Abert’s Squirrel (Sciurus aberti) Eating Seeds in a Ponderosa Pine Forest, Sandia Crest, New Mexico
Continuing, of course, with images from my trip out west, is an image that, oddly, was one of my most exciting to capture. Ever since seeing my first Abert’s Squirrel cross the road in front of me, I knew I had to get a decent photo of this large, goofy black squirrel. Luckily, on the last day, and on the way back to the airport, Alex and I found a group of rather tame squirrels in a campground full of Ponderosa Pine. After working with the squirrels for about an hour, this was the best image I was able to come away with.

Beautiful!! I think Abert’s Squirrels are so cool with those ear-tuffs. You’ve captured him well, love the pose, the cool fresh-air feeling, and environment. Only nit is that his underside is a bit dark. Very well done!!
God bless you,
Paul

Thanks Paul. Oddly, this is easily one of my favorites of the trip.
