Adult White-breasted Nuthatch Clinging to a Tree Trunk in Winter, Sandia Crest, New Mexico

Here’s another one from atop Sandia Crest. This White-breasted Nuthatch would stage in this exact same spot on the tree trunk every time before going into the feeder to get a sunflower seed. In this image, I really like the hint of hoar-frost covered trees in the background.

  1. Lovely shot Chris! Great perch and pose. This image has a real winter-ish feel to it.

Don’t you just love predictable behaviour? Great shot, Chris! The needles in the background add a lot.

    God Bless!
