Earth Shadow over the Blue Ridge, Blackrock Summit, Shenandoah National Park

Just got back from a 1.5 hour sleep on top of Blackrock Summit in Shenandoah National Park. The light in the morning made it all worthwhile! There was fog drifting through, and spectacular colors in the sky looking towards the sun, but when I saw the deep pinks and blues of the morning’s earth shadow, combined with the fresh spring green foliage and valley fog, I couldn’t help but take some photos in this direction. As it turns out, this is easily one of my favorites from the trip.
