Shiprock During a Pink Pastel Sunrise, New Mexico
I’m a little on the fence with this image, but would like to hear others opinions on it. On one hand, I like the slightly cooler look and color in the sky, but on the other I wonder if it is a compelling enough image to hold someone’s attention, especially when compared to my first Shiprock image. Opinions definitely welcome!

Hey Chris!
I think this one has great potential. I compared it to your earlier one, and in comparison this one looks rather flat. So, I pulled it into photoshop (hope you don’t mind) and gave it a levels adjustment for some more contrast, a saturation boost, and a slight S/H treatment. IMHO, it improved the image a lot (however, I wasn’t there to see what this really looked like). I like the colour in the sky and think it’s worth working to save the image.
Give it a try and tell me what you think!!
God bless,
Paul

Hi Paul,
Thanks for the feedback. I do agree. I played with this one for hours in Photoshop - and will have to play some more I think!

I agree this one looks a little flat. I think the other image is much stronger. The lighting and composition I think help accentuate the boldness of this landform jutting up from the landscape. This one doesn’t have that. Perhaps with a bit of a levels or curves tweak? I dunno..
