Southern Two-lined Salamander (Eurycea cirrigera), George Washington National Forest, Virginia

During my trip down to southwestern VA to visit one of my friends, I also made a point of seeking out a few species of salamander that I had yet to see or photograph. This species, the Southern Two-lined Salamander, appears identical to the Northern Two-lined Salamander, and can only be differentiated by genetic testing and range.

In other news, I have requested / taken additional days off of work every week from here on, as I was finding that my photography wasn’t advancing when I was stuck at work all the time! I plan on taking full advantage of this new time off, and hope to be taking MANY more pictures!

    Hi Chris,

A swell image overall, but a bit too light for my tastes. I’d darken it a bit and boost the blacks just a touch. (But then again, maybe it’s my monitor….).

Good to hear about the extra shooting time, hope to see some shots!

    God bless,

    Paul
