Stormy Sunset Cloud Abstract, Virginia
I took this photograph the same evening as my post about the ferns of Shenandoah National Park. As sunset approached, the sky looked furious with many layers of clouds all whipping by at various speeds. With a bit of luck, the sun broke through for a couple of minutes and lit up certain clouds. I ran outside with my wide-angle lens and managed to get a few before the light subsided for the night. In this image, I like the color and the way the clouds are balanced compositionally.

I really love the overlapping colors, textures, and patterns of this photograph. You don’t see these colors in the clouds very often and they make for a very pleasing and dramatic image. Great shot!

Lovely, as always.
Of course, I love the grosbeak the most - some things never change!
I’ll be looking from time to time.
